Tell ICE: End Detention Now

Our country is facing a crisis from the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, and already we are seeing how long-standing social evils—mass incarceration, poverty, racism—place people in our communities at heightened risk. Undocumented people and other immigrants targeted by U.S. authorities are among those thrust into harm’s way.

Recently, federal immigration agencies shared the welcome but overdue news that they plan to suspend some forms of enforcement during this public health crisis. Nevertheless, they made no guarantees about releasing the more than 37,000 people currently locked up in ICE detention, many of whom have risk factors for the disease which put their lives in danger.

Add your name to our letter to ICE leadership today to let them know: no more detention when lives are on the line.
