President Biden has made clear that issues of equity will not just be a focus of his presidency, but rather of the entire federal government. He recently signed a series of executive actions related to issues of racial equity, citing them as “a moral imperative” for the nation. Equity is woven into the Biden Administration’s Build Back Better priorities including the recent $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief proposal. At this webinar, Kathleen Brown, PhD (Chair, APA’s Advocacy Coordinating Committee) and Katherine McGuire (APA’s Chief Advocacy Officer) will discuss how the Biden Administration’s plans tie into APA’s advocacy efforts around COVID-19. They will also discuss ways in which the #EquityFlattensTheCurve network can contribute and influence impact. Brian Smedley, PhD (APA’s Chief of Psychology in the Public Interest) will moderate. This webinar will be recorded and closed captions will be provided.
